"Word Nerd" is one of the many ways I describe myself. Not that there is anything particularly "nerdy" about words, but for someone who spends a good deal of time learning of not only the meaning and the etymology behind words, but also strives to assimilate them into his every day vernacular there is a bit of nerd factor there. It's a bit more intense, because I take it as a compliment when others are either threatened, confused, humored, and, even in some cases, express feelings of condescension via my mastery of words.Not that I'm a genius, but I read a good deal, and with it comes an understanding of more words than the average cookie.
